Eagle eyed Doctor Who fans who happened to also be the proud owners of cameras captured shots of Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams on the set filming for series nine.

The following may be considered spoilers, so if you are not a fan of being spoiled, don’t look below.

It was back in March that the BBC announced that Maisie – who plays the tough and no-nonsense Arya Stark on the HBO epic fantasy – would be joining the show. The actual role she will be taking has yet to be announced, but certain guesses can be made from the costume pictured below.

Steven Moffat said of her character;

“She is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways… This time he might just be out of his depth, and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell.”
Williams herself says has expressed joy at the casting.

“it’s such a big and important part of British culture… I can’t wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we’ll be shooting not too far from my home town.”

She’s has been nominated by the Screen Actors Guild Awards three times, received a Shooting Star Award at the Berlin Film Festival, and in2013 won the BBC Radio 1 Teen Award for best British actor.

So, without further preamble, here is the infamous photograph to get the speculation going. Put your Speculation Spectacles on…

She appears to be some sort of masked highway bandit of the stand-and-deliver type. Your sonic screwdriver, or your life.
