Gearing Up For ‘Rebels’ Season Two

The last trailer for Season 2 of Star Wars Rebels has been revealed at New York Comic Con, just short before the start of the season itself. It certainly does its best to look very epic and promises the Rebels fans a lot.

As it has been clear for some time, a major part of the plot is going to deal with the new Inquisitors, the Seventh Sister and the Fifth Brother, searching for the Ghost‘s crew (with Darth Vader himself lurking in the background). The trailer also promises some focus on individual characters’ backstories, like for example Sabine Wren’s encounter with another Mandalorian bounty hunter. In any case, there seems to be a lot of new characters including the retired clones of the 501st Battalion. The creator Dave Filoni has mentioned in his NYCC panel that there is an incentive to make the show more realistic by having more female characters appearing (of which the Seventh Sister is probably the major representative, as female villains have been very much lacking in Rebels so far). What also certainly catches a hardcore Star Wars fan’s eye in the trailer is the appearance of what seems like a B-Wing prototype fighter as well as good old AT-AT walkers.

14th October is the release date for the first new episode – get ready Rebels fans!

Rostislav is a Protestant theologian and a self-trained Sith, counting Jan Hus, Dorothee Sölle, Darth Revan and Darth Traya among his main influences. He hails from the hundred-towered city of Prague, where he had spent a large part of his life creating worlds and inspiring young generations to roleplay. His involvement in organising children's camps led him to accidentally writing a Lord of the Rings musical, which made him temporarily famous, and a Three Musketeer-Jedi fanfilm, which didn't. He has recently moved to the frozen waste of Finland, because that's it, the Rebels are there.
