Edinburgh Comic Con 2016 – The Latest

Every year Edinburgh Comic Con supports local charities through the conventions. In the past they have raised money for Barnados, Make A Wish UK and Midlothian Food Bank.

This year they have stepped up a gear, raising funds for the Edinburgh Woman’s Aid and Cash For Kids.

Edinburgh Woman’s Aid helps women who are in abusive relationship. It was founded in 1973 as a registered charity and was set up by women, for women, to provide women and children, who are at risk of domestic abuse, with a safe and friendly place to turn to.

Cash For Kids is Bauer Radio’s network of local charities, which operate around the UK. Their aim is to enable all children to live life to the full and achieve their individual potential.

The rules for the Cosplay Championship 2016 have been posted, and the event will take place on Sunday 3rd April. The Hero Conventions Kids Cosplay Competition is for the Under 16’s, and will take place alongside the adult competition, although you won’t need to register in advance for this event.

And don’t forget the venue has changed this year, from Potterow to The Exchange, in Morrison Street.
